I have a user that is having trouble with Templates in Office I resolved this issue once, but it has come back after a couple weeks and I am at a loss for a fix that will permanently resolve the issue. The only fix seemed to be, deleting her user profile and setting everything up again. Swell problem solved, except after a couple weeks the problem has returned. Does anyone know of a fix for this issue which doesn’t require repair, re-installation, or blowing away a users windows profile?

Clearing the profile fixes it.. Have you tried deleting all the temp files? I have used ccleaner to clear all the temp files form the system, and users profile, which had no effect on the template download issue for Office I’ve run into issues with Windows 8 and profiles for other users with other issues as well.

Where the only resolution has been to destroy the user profile and create a new one. Creating a new profile for him resolved the issue. Prior to windows 8 I’ve never run into so many issues so frequently that could seemingly only be resolved with a new user profile. There has to be something else going on, or a common link for these items. I know this thread has been dead for awhile, but for anyone who gets here via a Google search on this issue, I have discovered consistent success with fixing this on machines that also had Visio Viewer installed.
